Overview

Hack Alerts is an informational security alert feed for major hacks, exploits, crypto and DeFi incidents, CVEs, and cloud outages. The app does not require an account and does not handle user funds.

Information We Collect

We collect only the data needed to operate the alert feed and optional push notifications:

  • Device push token used to send notifications.
  • Device platform, such as iOS or Android.
  • Notification preferences, including severity, topics, quiet mode, and critical override settings.
  • Optional app metadata such as app/runtime identifiers used for delivery diagnostics.
  • Email address only if you voluntarily join the waitlist on the website.

How We Use Information

We use this information to:

  • Deliver security alerts and push notifications you choose to receive.
  • Save notification preferences on your device and backend subscription record.
  • Operate, debug, and improve alert delivery reliability.
  • Send launch or product updates if you joined the waitlist.

What We Do Not Do

  • We do not require login or account registration.
  • We do not sell personal data.
  • We do not provide trading, investing, wallet custody, or financial services.
  • We do not request iOS Critical Alerts entitlement in v1.

Sharing And Service Providers

Hack Alerts may use infrastructure providers for hosting, analytics, database storage, and push notification delivery. These providers process data only as needed to operate the service.

Your Choices

You can disable push notifications in the app at any time. Disabling notifications unsubscribes the device token from alert delivery. You can also adjust severity and topic preferences from the app settings.

Data Security

We use reasonable technical measures to protect the limited data needed for alert delivery. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, but we keep the data footprint intentionally small.

Contact

For privacy questions or data requests, contact the Hack Alerts team through the same channel where you received access to the app, or reply to a waitlist email if you joined the waitlist.
